What It’s All About: At Ranch Soul, we’re striving to share Florida’s ranchlands and cow culture through photographs, art, poetry, and short stories, quotes and random thoughts, fun facts and more in hopes of providing inspiration and education to the world. As we approach Florida’s 500th Anniversary (from the date of Ponce de Leon’s first landing) and the origins of cattle ranching in North America in 2013, it’s our sincere hope that Ranch Soul will be a cornerstone in perpetuating the legacy of our rich ranching heritage for generations to come and help insure its continued existence as we forge into the future. To be short and sweet, our goal is education and enlightenment and we look forward to sharing with you a lesser-known side of Florida that has done more than merely exist, rather it has persisted and thrived through the generations for nearly 5 centuries!
Our Background: While we may have been raised around and live on a ranch, that doesn’t mean that we’re isolated with a narrow vision of the world around us. Quite to the contrary, our unending thirst for education and knowledge along with our inborn creativity led us to have diverse interests, education and backgrounds ranging from lessons gleaned from our upbringing in the rural south, to eastern philosophy and the martial arts, to Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degrees all of which have shaped our thought processes, personal beliefs, and principles.
